We started our projects!!
Our group consists of; Georgia, Tom, Grace and my self
We have decided on a genre, it's horror,
It took us a while to come up with a individual plot, as we wanted to do something a bit different, which we have achieved.
I have written a basic plan, a synopsis, a filming plan and we have also come up with a title - Axe To Grind. I am not in the next media lesson, as we are going to graces house, where we are filming, to look the set and take a few pictures, which i will up load when done. Then the lesson after that I will start scanning all my work on our horror film onto blogger.com how exciting!!

Today's Media lesson
We are now studying contemporary British cinema in media.
In Today's media lesson we made a mini presentation on British film production companies, Film 4 and Working title. we just found some background information, about start dates and founders etc.. then what sort of film they produce, i.e. blockbusters or art house film etc... We also looked at what films they had made, and if they were classified as British.
Working Title made - Love actually and Notting hill, which Georgia and myself both decided were very British, but they also made Bridget Jone's diary, which we were unsure about.
Film 4 made - Clueless, I Robot, This is England and many more lower budget art house films, we had quite alot of trouble, as i gather you can see, deciding if these were British film or not, as even though they have British funding, there very Americanised. (if that's a real word)
And that was our Media lesson!

just a quick note!
Had another media lesson today, we were just making notes about how things are represented in East is East. Have to leave that one very short, as am watching I'm a celebrity!!!! it's soooo good!!

Continuity project + other bits and bobs!
Whoop! I finished my continuity project!
The challenge was to film a short sequence of someone walking up to a door, close in of turning the handle, the walking through the other side of the door, sitting down with someone, having a conversation with them, then walking out of shot. I managed to complete this. My first shot was a little rocky as it was the first time I had ever done any proper video recording. The shots after that got a lot better. In the final sequence it crosses over Grace's shoulder to see Lara's reaction, and vice verse. I am quite pleased with my continuity project as it was my first try and I like how its turned out! I also did a story board, with some horrendous stick men drawing, but the less said about that the better! I am now very excited to start my proper project as i feel more confidant.
I have also started to ruin films for my self, as I am not thinking about the story, but of the technical side of things instead. Then I manage to figure out most of the endings. Whoops!
This does sorta have something to do with media, so I think I will say……
I was watching mock the week and I heard a very funny joke, so hear goes,
You know when you lie in bed, and you pull the covers right up, so only your head is showing...... well ....... do you ever think the queen lies in bed and goes... look Phillip....... I am a stamp!

My Media Lesson
Today i had Media Studies for my first lesson of the day, which was quite good as it was very chilly and i was having a clutsy day. We went through our specification for our 2 min, mini film. we chose our groups, mine consists of; Georgia, Tom, Grace and my self. We have decided to make the theme thriller! We came up with lots of idea's so i am quite excited! I will keep you all updated!!

My very late first post !
Hey!
I am Danni, this is my first blog post as... i have only just joined media studies. as i left business studies as it was yuck! so far i am loving media! it so much more interesting and exciting.
In my first lesson we made a mini film about opening and walking through a door. I found it little confusing, but it was all fab in the end, especially after a bit of editing! the next lesson i had, we made a mini clip of our own choice, this went better, as i new what i was doing a but more. and it was very fun playing with the apple mac's.
i think this whole studying the media thing is starting to affect my every day life! honestly! i was watching Harry Potter and it struck me that i had been following how the camera never crosses the diagonal filming line.
well first blog post went well, will be posting some more soon!
