Changes made in the production process

Today in media, whilst editing our film the suggestion came up that it would be more creative to turn in into black and white, we tried this and it didn’t seem to create the same feeling of horror, suspense and anticipation. We then thought about turning it into black and white, and highlighting some cretin mise en scene parts of shots, for instance the black and white. Close up of hands over bath, wit only the read nails put into colour. This would both highlight and draw attention to this feature. We then thought of the time aspects, then realised we most properly don’t have enough time to implement this. We then came up with the concept of having everything from the murder's perspective in black and white, and everything from normal perspective in colour. This works as it helps promote one of our themes that the murders ‘fixation’ is so strong that he only sees things in black white, were as the rest of the world sees in colour.

Catch up on lessons.

We have just finished our mocks for media, they both proved harder than anticipated, but I think everyone found that, so not to worry too much. Just need to keep on practicing.

In lesson recently we have been working on our coursework, this has been mainly editing, and filming out of lessons. This is proving a little more difficult than we first anticipated. Especially as we have to wait for it to get dark to do most of our shots. But hay, were still ploughing through. Most of our filing is completed now, we only have one or two shots left to get, which will be much easier than the others, as they don't involve Grace diving in and out of the bath all the time. The Majority of our shots are currently on Final Cut Express, waiting to be cut and chopped, moved and changed.

in the other half of our Media course, we have gone through our mocks papers and started filming a little fun clip of representing gender. Our task was to film a brake up scene, even though we were in all female / male groups, which obviously lead to the boys doing a gay scene, were as our group managed to try and find another way around it, we ended up filming a random couple in Costa, (They didn't catch us :)few!) then showing how girls comforted each other. This included a lot of whaling and hugs. This was very fun to do, but also helped us with gender representation.
Will post the video of our gender representation as soon as it is all edited.

Australia :)

OMG! have just been to see Australia, it was so so good!
Australia is a 2008 Australian epic romance film directed by Baz Luhrmann and starring Nicole Kiman and Hugh Jackman. Well the basic plot is; In 1939, Lady Sarah Ashley (Nicole Kiman) travels from England to northern Australia to force her husband to sell his faltering Australian cattle station, Faraway Downs. Her husband sends an independent cattle drover (Hugh Jackman), called simply "Drover", to Darwin to transport her to Faraway Downs.
Lady Sarah's husband is murdered shortly before she arrives. Meanwhile, cattle station manager Neil Fletcher is trying to gain control of Faraway Downs, so that Lesley 'King' Carney can have a complete cattle monopoly in the Northern territory, which will give him negotiating leverage with the Australian army. Fletcher also claims to Lady Sarah that the murderer of her husband is an Aboriginal elder with magical powers, "King George"The childless Lady Sarah is captivated by the young boy Nullah, who was born to an Aboriginal mother and an unknown white father. Nullah tells her that he has seen her cattle being driven onto Carney's land — in other words, stolen from her. Because of this, Fletcher mistreats Nullah and threatens him and his mother, after which Lady Sarah fires Fletcher and decides to try and run the cattle station herself. When Nullah and his mother hide from the white authorities by entering a water tower, his mother drowns. Lady Sarah comforts Nullah by singing the song "over the rainbow" from Nullah tells her that "King George" is his grandfather, and that like "King George" he too is a "magic man".
Can’t you just see how i feel in love with this film. Its sooooo good, and it has so many twists, keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. Definitely worth seeing!!
